Christian are Destroying the Church

"When you hear any statements made, do not alter or shift them. Just compare them with the actions, and observe whether the statements and actions correspond with each other." Han Fei Tzu

“The truth is like a lion; you don’t have to defend it. Let it loose; it will defend itself.” Augustine

I read an article on Gawker (sue me) by Jennifer C. Martin about a Christian called Matt Walsh. She made a strong case for how the stuff he is spewing is contrary to the Bible. She laid it out verse by verse, not the "he's wrong, trust me" which we typically see.

My heart broke. More and more, the gospel I am hearing people talk is full of hatred and exclusion. I am reminded of Jesus giving the parables of the lost sheep (Matthew 15:3-7) and how anyone would leave the 99 to save that ONE lost sheep, but today, it seems his believers are going after those lone sheep to kill them.

Moments before reading the article, I had read of a Pastor asking God to rip the heart out of Caitlyn Jenner. Before that was the molestation allegations against Josh Duggar. Then there was Creflo Dollar, a Prosperity Pastor in Atlanta, wanting his members to buy him a $65 million private jet. Add to that Pat Robertson telling a woman to tell her coworker that her baby died to avoid the world getting another Hitler. My heart broke more, because the Church is in trouble.

With the way Christians are behaving, I fail to see the Christ part. I see  a group of people are preaching a gospel totally contrary to what Christ or Paul, the Apostle, taught. I was reminded of passages from Matthew 7: 21-23, which says:
Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. 22"Many will say to Me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?' 23"And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.'

The Church has become far more destructive, which is what is driving people  away from it. If it stays on its current course, there is no way that it will not implode. You see, Mark 3:24-26 says:
24"If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. 25"If a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand. 26"If Satan has risen up against himself and is divided, he cannot stand, but he is finished!

The division of the Church has fallen into two camps. There are those who are forging a war against humanity, and the other side who believes some passages in the Bible are being used opportunistically and politically to divide not the sheep from the wolves, but to enslave people to texts taken out of context, or which are outdated.

The actions coming from the Church do not reflect Christ at all. The proof is that Jesus did everything from a foundation of love, not bandwagon political shots. Paul says in Galatians 5:
13 You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh[a]; rather, serve one another humbly in love. 14 For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”[b] 15 If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other.
So I must ask, how is the hatred, homophobia, subjugation of women and such, reflective of Christ? It's not. They are reflective of a group of people who have lost sight of who Christ was/is, and what he stands for. At the very minimum, if they REALLY believed people have lost their way, why are they not going to the lost sheep to help them up? Why, instead have they chosen hatred of those who believe differently? Yet, they stand boldly for their own sin of judging, of which Paul asks, "Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand. (Romans 14:4)" The greatest sin that the Church has failed is Luke 6: 31, 31 And as ye desire that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.

The Church is at a crossroads.  It is time to choose. What's it going to be? Will you choose the love of God or the deceiving hate of wolves in sheep's clothing (Matthew 7:15)? It can choose to continue down the path of hate, or it can choose the path of love. But it cannot do both without seeing it's own destruction.
